Avanafil is used in the treatment of erectile dysfunction(ED).

Before taking this medicine

Do not take avanafil if you are allergic to avanafil.

Take medicines to treat pulmonary arterial pulmonary hypertension, such as riociguato (Adenpas).

Do not take avanafil if you also take nitrates for chest pain or heart problems. These include nitroglycerin, isosorbide nitrate and isosorbide nitrate.

Nitrates are also present in recreational drugs such as amyl nitrite and nitrite (“popper”). Taking avanafil with nitrates can cause a sudden and severe drop in blood pressure.

Avanafil Dosage Information

Normal adult dose for erectile dysfunction:

Initial dose starts with 100 mg orally as needed approximately 30 minutes before sexual activity and Maximum dose up to 200 mg orally once a day

You should take the lowest dose that will benefit you.

Requires sexual stimulation to respond to treatment.

Avanafil reduces blood flow to the optic nerve in the eye and can cause sudden loss of vision. It occurs in a small number of people who take sildenafil (Viagra) or other drugs like avanafil.

Most of these people had heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or certain pre-existing vision problems, and were among smokers or people over 50. It is not known if avanafil is the actual cause of vision loss.

Side effects of avanafil

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction. dyspnea; Swelling of the face, lips, tongue and throat.

If you experience sudden vision loss, stop using avanafil and seek emergency medical attention.

Call your doctor right away if you experience blindness, nausea, or pain, numbness, or pain in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw during sexual activity. You can have serious side effects with Avanafil.

avanafil is for men only. It is not clear if there are any harmful effects when women use avanafil during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
